Welcome to Victory Boulevard Elementary!

Dear Parents/Guardians:

There will be a parade on Halloween for all students. The parade will be on Tuesday, October 31st at 8:15 am on the main yard. Students may wear their costumes to school (no wearing of masks) but time will be given to students to change into their costumes before the parade if needed. After the parade, students will need to change into school clothes. They can keep make up and wigs on for the day.

Please be aware of the following guidelines:

· If you do not want your child to participate in the Halloween parade, please notify your child’s teacher and alternative arrangements will be made for your child.

· Student’s costumes should not depict gangs. Masks may only be worn during the parade. Costumes may not be demeaning to any race, religion, nationality, handicapping condition or gender. Fake fingernails should not be part of the costume. They break or come loose during the day and become a distraction.

· Weapons, even replica weapons, are not to be brought to school. This includes fake guns, knives, swords, etc. If these items are brought to school, the teacher will take the items and send them to the office, where the parent may claim them.

· Shoes must be worn.

There will be no class parties for this holiday. Please do not allow your children to bring treats to school.

Wishing all of your children a safe Halloween.

Message From Principal Diamond....

Strategies For Success

Your child may not love homework, but a homework

routine will make it easier for the student to settle

down for study time. To create one:

1.     Choose the same time each day. It reduces the

need for nagging.

2.     Include the whole family. Turn off the TV. Read or do

quite chores while your child is working.

3.     Keep rescheduling to a minimum. If there is a conflict,

be sure your child knows when homework time will be

4.     Keep track with an assignment calendar.

Ask questions such as “How’s the report coming?

In the Community

Be Safe: Always look both ways before crossing the streets.

Be Respectful: Always say “please”, “thank you” and

“excuse me”.

Be Responsible: Do your homework at home,

and bring it back to school completed.

*Involved parents create a better education for their children:

Ask to see your child’s homework, be in touch with the teacher and participate and enjoy all of our school events!
